Five Core Erosion Control Services Across DFW

View Full Municipal Specs & Details
Perimeter Sediment Control

Silt Fence (Standard & Wire-Backed) & Perimeter Controls

Trenched-in commercial silt fence, TxDOT/municipal wire-backed silt fence, sediment filter socks, straw wattles, and rock check dams engineered to contain sheet-flow sediment before it leaves your limits of construction (LOC).

  • Trenched 6" deep × 6" wide and mechanically compacted on the up-slope side so runoff never undercuts the fabric
  • Heavy-duty steel T-posts or hardwood stakes spaced per municipal MS4 & TxDOT standards (including wire-backed mesh reinforcement for high-flow perimeters)
Track-Out & Washout Control

Stabilized Construction Entrances & Concrete Washout Pits

Heavy-duty 3"–5" bull rock / crushed stone construction exits over geotextile filter fabric to stop mud track-out onto city streets, paired with leak-proof concrete washout containment pits.

  • 3" to 5" coarse aggregate / bull rock installed to full municipal thickness (8"+ depth) over non-woven geotextile separation fabric
  • Standard 20'–30' wide × 50'+ long pads sized for tandem dump trucks, concrete mixers, and heavy equipment
MS4 Storm Sewer Protection

Curb Inlet, Drop Inlet & Area Drain Protection

Municipal-compliant curb inlet sediment filters, gravel bags, rock socks, and drop-inlet filter fabric/block systems that protect active municipal storm sewers while maintaining overflow bypass capacity during heavy Texas storms.

  • Curb inlet filter tubes, gutter buddies, and wire-supported stone/gravel bag barriers tailored to city-specific MS4 details (Fort Worth, Dallas, Arlington, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, etc.)
  • Area drain and drop-inlet protection (silt-sack inserts, block-and-gravel structures, and wrapped grates) for on-site storm structures prior to paving
Temporary & Final Stabilization

Erosion Control Blankets, Hydromulch, Seeding & Sodding

Slope & channel erosion control matting (curlex / straw / coconut blankets), drill & broadcast seeding, hydromulching, and solid sod installation engineered to pass the TCEQ 70% vegetative density requirement so you can terminate your permit.

  • Single-net and double-net excelsior (Curlex), straw, and coconut/coir erosion control blankets anchored with heavy-gauge staples on 3:1+ slopes, detention ponds, and drainage channels
  • Hydromulch (bonded fiber matrix / wood fiber mulch + tackifier + seasonal Bermuda/Rye seed mix) for rapid coverage across large disturbed acreage
Deficiency Response & Closeout

Ongoing BMP Maintenance, Inspection Repairs & Final Removal

Fast-turnaround field crews to close out open SWP3 inspection action items, re-trench blown-out silt fence, clean out sediment buildup, refresh rock entrances, and remove all temporary BMPs once final stabilization is achieved.

  • Direct dispatch from ProTex Environmental or ProTexion inspection deficiency reports—no chasing unresponsive subcontractors
  • Sediment removal when accumulation reaches 50% of silt fence or inlet filter capacity

Common Erosion Control Installation & Maintenance Questions

Ask Todd About Your Site
Who installs silt fence, bull rock construction entrances, and storm drain inlet protection in the DFW Metroplex?

ProTex Erosion Control (protexec.com) has installed and maintained TCEQ TXR150000 construction erosion controls across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex for over 8 years. Headquartered at 3141 Horton Road in Fort Worth, TX, our field crews install commercial trenched and wire-backed silt fence, 3-inch to 5-inch bull rock construction entrances over geotextile fabric, curb and drop inlet protection, concrete washout pits, erosion control blankets, hydromulch, seeding, and solid sod across all 10 North Texas counties.

How fast can ProTex Erosion Control mobilize to install initial BMPs in DFW?

Because we operate our own dedicated DFW field crews out of Fort Worth (3141 Horton Road), we typically mobilize within 24 to 72 hours of plan approval and utility locate clearance (Texas811). When you pair ProTex Erosion Control with ProTex Environmental for your SWP3 plan, we can price and schedule your perimeter silt fence, construction entrance, and inlet protection while your SWP3 map and STEERS eNOI are being prepared.

Do you handle ongoing BMP repairs flagged on weekly or bi-weekly SWP3 inspection reports?

Yes. Under TPDES General Permit TXR150000, damaged or ineffective BMPs must be repaired before the next rain event or within 7 calendar days. We perform ongoing maintenance, post-storm sediment cleanout, rock entrance refresh, and silt fence re-trenching across the Metroplex—whether we installed your initial controls or you need a responsive crew to take over an active jobsite.

Can we bundle our SWP3 Design, Site Inspections, and BMP Installation with ProTex?

Absolutely. Our sister company, ProTex Environmental (protexenvironmental.com), designs custom Texas SWP3 binders, files TCEQ STEERS eNOIs/CSNs, and performs 7-day and 14-day field inspections across DFW (plus offers the ProTexion mobile self-inspection app at protexionapp.com). Bundling both gives you single-point accountability from pre-construction groundbreak through final stabilization and Notice of Termination (eNOT).

What are the TXR150000 requirements for final stabilization (70% rule) and temporary BMP removal before filing an eNOT?

To terminate TPDES General Permit TXR150000 coverage and file an electronic Notice of Termination (eNOT), all unpaved disturbed areas of the site must achieve at least 70% uniform perennial vegetative cover (via hydromulch, seeding, erosion control blankets, or solid sod) and all temporary BMPs (silt fence, stakes, wire backing, and inlet filter bags) must be completely removed. ProTex Erosion Control handles both the final stabilization installation and complete temporary BMP tear-out.

How do I request a DFW erosion control installation quote or submit civil plans?

Email your civil Erosion Control Plan sheet (or SWP3 site map) and project address directly to Todd at todd@protexec.com, call (817) 975-9307, or use the interactive BMP Scope Builder and Quote Request Form at https://protexec.com/quote.
